Frodo Baggins is the son of Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck. His parents died in an unfortunate boating accident, so he went to live with his cousin Bilbo Baggins. Frodo had many friends in the Shire, however, his most loyal friend was his garderner, Samwise Gamgee. When Bilbo decided on his 111th birthday to leave the Shire, he left Frodo Bag-End and his magic ring that turned out to be the One Ring.

After finding out the history of the ring Frodo agreed with Gandalf that he would take the ring to Rivendell and Frodo was accompanied by Sam. In Rivendell, during a heated argument at the Council of Elrond, Frodo decided that he would take the One Ring to be destoryed at Mount Doom in Mordor. This decision formed the party known as the Fellowship of the Ring. Throughout the Lord of the Rings Frodo is faced with many difficult decisions, struggles, attacks from the Witchking, a cave troll, Shelob, orcs, Gollum and others. All leading up to the destruction of the ring.

Bilbo gave Frodo the sword Sting, which would glow blue when orcs were around. He was also given a a coat of mithril.
